What is an SSCC?

The SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) is the 18-digit GS1 number that identifies each logistic unit (carton or pallet): a 1-digit extension, the GS1 Company Prefix, a serial reference and a check digit. In the barcode it starts with Application Identifier (00) and is carried in GS1-128.

FAQ

Where does the company prefix in the SSCC come from?

The GS1 Company Prefix is licensed from your local GS1 member organisation. The serial reference is assigned by the shipper — one unique number per logistic unit — and the last digit is the check digit computed by the GS1 rule.

Can I print this directly on my label printer?

Yes. The label designer supports Zebra, TSC, Brother, Epson, cab and more with native printer commands; GS1 and other barcodes are emitted module-exact so widths are precise. Direct printing needs the free Funcode print agent on Windows; without a label printer you can download a PDF and print on any printer.

How many labels can I print?

The free plan prints 50 labels a day, single and Excel batch combined. The Print plan removes the limit on labels and printers.
