FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the barcode generator free?

Yes. Every static barcode (20 1D symbologies, all QR styles, 6 2D codes) is free forever with no watermark, including SVG vector downloads. Paid plans unlock unlimited Picture QR, AI art QR allowances, high-volume batch, the REST API, and direct label printing.

Which barcode types are supported?

20 1D symbologies (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A/E, Code 128, Code 39/93, GS1-128, ITF-14, Codabar, plus HIBC LIC and ISBT 128 for medical UDI), 12 QR generators (Standard, Color, Shaped, Halftone, Photo blend, AI art, WiFi, vCard, Social, Functional, Micro QR, GS1 Digital Link), and 6 2D codes (Data Matrix, GS1 DataMatrix, PDF417, Micro PDF417, Aztec, MaxiCode).

How do I batch-generate barcodes from Excel?

Open the Batch Generation page, upload an Excel or CSV file, pick the data column, and generate hundreds of codes at once as a ZIP (with an index sheet). A fill-in template is available. Files are processed entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

SVG, PNG, JPEG, or PDF — which should I pick?

SVG is vector — it scales and prints without quality loss, the best choice for labels and print. PNG / JPEG are raster (72 / 150 / 300 DPI) and suit web pages and documents. PDF is sized in physical millimeters, ready to send to print.

Can I print directly to a label printer?

Yes. The label designer outputs ZPL / TSPL / EPL / ESC-POS printer commands, and the free local print agent sends them straight to TSC, Zebra, Brother, and Epson printers — no vendor drivers needed. Network printers are supported via TCP 9100.

Is there a REST API?

Yes — GET /api/barcode returns SVG or PNG. Anonymous use is free at 60 requests/minute; the Pro plan includes 10,000 calls per month with API keys, ideal for system integration.

What if my QR code will not scan?

Raise the error-correction level (ECC), increase the size and quiet zone, and make sure the foreground/background contrast is strong. For artistic styles (Halftone / Photo blend / AI), always verify with a real phone scan before publishing.
